Alright, so here’s some badass stuff for you to look at! Here’s concept work for Popapocalypse, my comic that’s going to be premiering it’s very first issue early this summer. If you haven’t been bombarded with my endless rantings about Popapocalypse, let me saturate your brain with some tasty plot really quickly. Popapocalypse is a post apocalyptic story ten years after a big war has taken place. There’s waring factions, monsters, and all kinds of stuff, but here’s the kicker. When the big war went down, companies all over the world saw the media attention that the war was getting and they capitalized off of it every way they possibly could. They created super soldiers, monster, superheros, and war commanders that all represented their companies during the battles for the cameras. Now, ten years later, while civilization is regrouping and power is shifting, these iconic warriors still exist, but without their corporate ties. So, check out these character sheets, and see for yourself what I’m talking about:
The First one is one of the main protagonists of the story. THE CAPTAIN. During the war he was a hero, swashbuckling his way through battle after battle in his state-of-the-art Apache helicopter and cyborg sidekick bird of death Tucan. However, the ten years after the war have not been fortuitous for the good Captain as he’s about as down-and-out as you can go. He owes money all over the country after long streak of losing bets, and now he’s tumbling down the rabbit hole to simply stay alive.
THE TUCAN: Remember that cyborg bird I was talking about a minute ago? Well, here he is:
And here’s the main Villian of the first arc: THE RABBIT. His apperance is based on one of my oldest and best friends, Chris Williams. He’s basically a mob boss who’s planning on ransacking every tribe and established colony on the planet until he’s has everything. Just like his namesake suggests, he’s always after something, something that he cannot define and is always just out of his grasp. He’s convinced that there are those that will TRICK his out of what he deserves. Get it? During the war he was a complete savage, using his physical enhancements to destroy his enemies. Now, ten years later, he has a floating city that houses every black market entertainments and product you could want, alongside his growing army. In these sketches I have him as a businessman and also the first iterations of his war helmet.
